We are not a “Function Hotel”, although the Court is a great place to have a Wedding Party. We do a few weddings each year under the following circumstances.
On a Saturday date it must be a week-end house party; the bride and groom to see that all eight bedrooms are taken by family and friends for both Friday and Saturday night (or Sat & Sun) and although there might be other outside diners on the Friday you have exclusive use of the Court all day Saturday. We are too small a place to have other people staying and you can enjoy the privacy of the Court on Saturday night without upsetting other guests!
Numbers are limited to a maximum of 68 for a wedding breakfast with possibly another 12-15 joining you later for an evening party. Music off at midnight, carriages at one o’clock.
Mid week wedding receptions perhaps for smaller numbers are open for discussion. Although we do need to agree a time by which you all leave.
We do not have any ‘set’ menus but prefer to sit down and chat to the bride and groom, find out what you would like and design a three course menu, with three choices in each course. We are more than happy to cater for any special dietary requirements your guests may have. We have a good wine list and are happy to recommend wines to compliment your choice of menu.
We envisage you and your guests arriving here from the church or registry office to be greeted by us with drinks of your choice e.g. – Pimms, Bubbly, wine and whilst your party mingle, chat and have photos taken we will pass round the menu, top up glasses and take orders for the meal. When all is ready we shall call you in to be seated at tables of 6’s/8’s, re-take the orders for your starters and mains at the table and proceed with a leisurely service.
After the service of coffee, the cutting of the cake, toasts and speeches take place back in the Drawing Room bar.
If you want to carry on through the evening with some music and dancing we can provide a light buffet of say bread and cheese, cold meats and warm tarts for later on. Up to you to decide whether you would like us to operate a cash bar or to include all drinks on your account.
We will quote you a per head price to include the wedding breakfast, exclusive use of Glewstone Court and VAT. All wines and drinks will be charged for as consumed at the pre-agreed rate.
10% service charge on all food and beverages consumed on the day (excludes cash bar)
£200 non-refundable deposit on written confirmation of booking – deducted from final account.
50% of estimated final bill payable one month prior to wedding day.
Remainder of the bill paid on departure, either by cash, cheque by arrangement or debit card. (MasterCard/Visa can be used by prior arrangement and will incur a 2% surcharge and Amex with a 3.5% surcharge)
Final numbers confirmed two weeks prior to the wedding.
The final account for the wedding breakfast and reception will be based on these confirmed numbers: Any extras at the last minute will be charged as quoted and any last minute no-shows will be charged at 60% of the amount quoted.
Any rooms not taken will be charged for (single occupancy less VAT & breakfast).
