The Country House

A Venue
Like No Other.

Sash windows, wooden fireplaces and a spiral staircase that creaks where it should. We've restored this house and shared it with couples since 2014. What you get is a Grade II-listed Georgian manor that still feels like a home away from home.

Outside, the formal lawns drop to an apple orchard, beautifully framed by the Wye Valley on the horizon. The walled courtyard sits just through the french doors of the Drawing Room. The Cedar by the driveway was planted around 1520, making it one of the oldest in Europe!

01 The Welcome

Step onto Victorian mosaic.

Guests step through the front door onto the original 1880s tiling, beneath a grand staircase that awaits your special arrival.

02 The Vows

Indoors, or out on the lawn.

Marry in the Drawing Room, beneath a coffered ceiling and two arched windows, where a floor to ceiling bay window brings the same garden views inside. Or say your vows outdoors on the bottom lawn, looking out over the apple orchard. Both spaces are licensed, and our local parish church, St Matthews at Marstow, is a mile or two away.

03 The Feast

Three rooms to celebrate.

The Morning Room, Lounge and Drawing Room each have their own character, and flow seamlessly into one another. Combine the Morning Room and Lounge to seat up to 80, or dine in the Drawing Room for up to 70.

04 The Evening

The bar opens. The fires light.

Up to 130 join you for the evening. The Courtyard Bar opens, and the fires are lit. Celebrations run to 11pm, with the option to carry on until midnight. Your guests stay the night, so breakfast together the next morning is part of it.
